Born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky the Bluegrass state has always been home. Attending Eastern Kentucky University was natural, as I have cheered the Colonels on for most of my life. Even though I am also a big U.K. fan! Starting college as a business major, I quickly decided sitting at a desk was not for me. My love for people and news, and the desire to be involved in communities, led to me a major in journalism.
Throughout college, I had the chance to learn from journalists across the state and country as I interned at stations including WKYT in Lexington and WAVE news in Louisville. My love for news took me beyond local news, to New York City, where I had a first-hand look at news on a National level as I interned for Fox News. I also had the opportunity to learn about our government and political system as I interned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
All of these experiences have prepared me for my job at WYMT, telling your stories right here in the mountains. I am excited and grateful to be apart of the mountain family here in Hazard, Kentucky.
