From the time I was young, my strongest passion has centered around two things: sports and telling a good story. As I grew older and the years passed by, I came to the realization that combining the two was something I thoroughly enjoy doing. My ability to utilize words in a vivid and effective manner is something I cherish.
I was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in a small suburb about five minutes north called Vandalia, at the crossroads of America.
After graduating from Carter High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, I attended the University of Tennessee, where I majored in Journalism & Electronic Media. From The Daily Beacon to The Volunteer Channel and WUTK Radio, I was determined to get as much experience in every facet of the media industry as possible. During my time as a student-reporter, I covered more than 150 SEC football and basketball games, including three SEC Tournaments, two NCAA Men's Basketball Tournaments and this past year's Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. I was also one of four students selected to participate in an NFL Network draft experience in Nashville, where we spent the entire day with the great Charles Davis.
That experience earned me internships with WVLT-TV and WATE-TV, where I was blessed to shadow tremendous talent such as Rick Russo, Marshall Hughes, Caleb Noe and Jordan Crammer. In August of 2019, I signed with Sports Illustrated and began running their Tennessee site on SI.com. I was blessed to call one of the world's most well-known publications home for more than seven months, but as I neared graduation, I knew that television was my passion.
I am thrilled to be part of the team here at WYMT and I could not have asked for a better place to start in television. While Rocky Top will always be home sweet home to me, the Hazard community has welcomed me with open arms. In my free time, you can catch me working out or watching any NFL/NBA game that happens to be on TV.
