I grew up in a small, Alabama town about 30 minutes from Birmingham. Being from Alabama, I am no stranger to wild weather. I have vivid memories of hurricanes striking the Gulf Coast in 2005 and the historic tornado outbreak that ravaged portions of my home state in April of 2011. These events helped spark my interest in the atmosphere and motivated me to pursue a career in meteorology.
I graduated from Dora High School in 2017. Go Bulldogs! After high school graduation, I remained a part of the Bulldog Family as I enrolled at Mississippi State University. During my time in Starkville, I learned from some of the best professors in the country. I was able to gain experience on the green screen by giving weekly forecasts as a Campus Connect student meteorologist. I even had the opportunity to do severe weather coverage!
When I wasn't in class or doing homework, I was getting involved on campus. Over my four years, I completed numerous volunteer projects like Habitat for Humanity and clean-up days across campus. I also served as a Resident Advisor for two years. This experience was very rewarding because I was able to serve as a mentor to incoming freshmen.
In April 2021, I graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Professional Meteorology. My time in Starkville was so special, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world!
During my free time, I love to get outdoors and hike. Send me your favorite hiking spots, and I'll be sure to check them out. I'm also a big sports fan. Being from Alabama, you can probably guess my favorite team, but if not, Roll Tide! I also enjoy hanging out with my friends, watching TV, cooking, and traveling.
I am so excited to join the Mountain Family! I can't wait to forecast and experience the weather here in the mountains. I am also eager to get out into the community and meet everyone in this beautiful area. Feel free to reach out to me anytime by email or social media!
