“There’s no better place than the state of Kentucky”: Jerod and Jacob Smith commit to Kentucky
CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky Football received good news from Southeast Kentucky on Friday night.
After defeating Frederick Douglass 6-0, Corbin stars Jerod and Jacob Smith announced their commitment to Kentucky.
Jerod ended the game with three pass deflections and Jacob finished with an interception and fumble recovery.
The Smith brothers were originally committed to Michigan. They are regarded as four-star prospects in many ratings.
Jerod said they wanted to stay home which led to the change.
“We just want to stay home,” Smith said. “Our whole family is from here. There’s no better place than the state of Kentucky. We love it here. We just want to stay home, it’s the best place for us.”
The Smith brothers and the Corbin Redhounds look to continue their undefeated season on the road against Hazard.
