HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The Cats will play in the East Region as the six seed, in Greensboro, NC.

Kentucky finished the season 21-11 and third in the SEC.

UK drew a tough Providence team with the game set for, Friday, March 17.

The Friars are led by former UK player Bryce Hopkins who has had an strong season averaging just over 16 points a game.

Hopkins played 28 games for Kentucky in 2021-22 averaging just over two points a game.

The then UK freshman had a breakout game in February, verses LSU where we went off for 13 second half points, helping the Cats win that game.

Providence finished 21-11 this season as well and fifth in the Big East.

The tournament will begin March 16, with first round games.
