LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Police in Southern Kentucky are still looking for a woman involved in a deadly crash last year.

Deputies said Danielle Kelly killed 44-year-old Tiffany Smith in a DUI crash on US-25 in September of 2021.

Three other people were hurt in the crash.

“It killed a passenger in her vehicle. It seriously injured a passenger in her vehicle,” Gilbert Acciardo said.

Lab work took months to come back, but it eventually said Kelly was under the influence at the time of the crash.

“People have to know we strictly enforce those rules and regulations. If someone gets killed or is seriously injured, we are going to seek indictment,” Acciardo added.

In November, a grand jury indicted Danielle Kelly on murder and assault charges, but officials said she has been hard to find.

“We have looked for her in the southern end of the county, which is where she is reportedly from. We even had reports when we first put this out that she was up around Richmond or Lexington. We followed up on every single lead that has come in,” Acciardo said.

Officers said Kelly could be in the south Laurel area, and any tips submitted will be kept confidential.
