FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) - Gov. Andy Beshear held a briefing Monday to update Kentuckians on the state’s response to tornado damage across the Commonwealth.

He was joined by state Emergency Management Director Michael Dossett.

The Governor went on to say it could be a long time before officials know how many people died during the devastating storms. He said 64 people have been confirmed dead so far, with more than 100 still unaccounted for.

Beshear added the cleanup and recovery from the storms could take years.

He shared the age range of those lost is five months to 86 years.

The Governor also said President Joe Biden would be in Kentucky to visit the damaged areas soon.
