HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - The first final is here in the 35th annual WYMT Food City Mountain Basketball Classic presented by Kentucky Farm Bureau and sponsored by ARH.

Knott Central and Shelby Valley both came out with their best foot forward. The first quarter was neck and neck. Early in the second quarter, the teams were tied up at 12-12.

Shelby Valley was able to take the lead and head into halftime with the score 23-20 in their favor.

The Lady Cats held onto their lead and kept the momentum up in the fourth quarter, where they led by as much as 10 points.

Knott Central would not go down without a fight, though, and made it a two-point game at 49-51 with less than two minutes left.

At the 20 second mark, Shelby Valley held a four-point lead.

With only six seconds left on the clock, Knott Central was only three points behind Shelby Valley, but Shelby Valley had possession. Knott Central committed a quick foul to send Shelby Valley to the line. The Lady Cats player converted only one of their two free throws, but held on to the lead in the last five seconds to get the win.

The final score was 57-53.
