North Laurel claims 3rd place with a 57-52 overtime win against Bell County at the WYMT Food City Mountain Classic
HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - North Laurel and Bell County tipped off night five of the 35th annual WYMT Food City Mountain Basketball Classic presented by Kentucky Farm Bureau and sponsored by ARH.
North Laurel will be taking home the third place trophy after a hard fought game.
Both teams went back and forth, with the game having to be decided after overtime. With only six seconds left on the clock, both teams were locked at 50 points. Bell County had the last shot of regular time but were not able to convert the shot.
Eventually, North Laurel was able to build a lead in the extra period and seal the win.
Hailee Valentine lead the Lady Jaguars with 18 points, Chloe McKnight had 14 points as well, with Gracie McKnight joining with double-digit party with 10.
Grace Wilder led not only Bell County but also both teams in points with 29, Mataya Ausmus finished with 14 points.
