Shots Across the Bluegrass tour comes to an end
LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - The final leg of the “Shots Across the Bluegrass” tour took place Friday at Wildcat Harley Davidson in London.
In partnership with Kentucky Sports Radio, the Kentucky Association of Health Plans has been traveling across Eastern Kentucky, hoping to inspire people to get vaccinated.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., anyone wanting to take the vaccine could come up and do so, with the chance to sign up for several prizes.
One of those participants was Thomas Hammonds, who got the vaccine due to an upcoming trip.
“I could just foresee airlines requiring it so it’s a matter of when I was going to get it not necessarily if I was going to get it or not and then, they’re giving away 500 dollars and tickets to a UK game here and then the million dollars our governors got going on so the incentives definitely weighed on it,” Hammonds said.
Officials with KAHP say this was their most successful portion of the tour, seeing more than 100 people get vaccinated.
