Retired EKY judge, attorney dies

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials with the Johnson County Bar Association tell WYMT one of their longtime members has died.

In an email, officials confirm retired judge and attorney Stephen “Nick” Frazier died Thursday night at his home.

Before retiring, he served as the 24th Judicial Circuit Family Court Judge and the Chief Regional Circuit Judge of the Mountain Region.

He served as circuit judge from 1984 until his retirement in 2005, taught political science and law at what was at the time Pikeville College and Prestonsburg Community College and was a former city attorney for Paintsville.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
