LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky will return to full capacity and end the mask mandate today, June 11.

Sav’s owner Mamadou Savane said it means it’s time for him to prepare.

Savane said the restaurant would return to 100 percent capacity as soon as possible. However, he said businesses are still struggling to find employees. He’s hoping he will have enough staff to seat all tables by next week.

While the pandemic has been a struggle, Savane said it has caused him to think outside the box and build a brand new space for outdoor seating. He said it has also given everyone a chance to head into this next chapter with gratitude.

“I do feel bad for those who didn’t make it, unfortunately, but us, we had the chance to make it, let us take this and embrace it and be thankful for it, because life, there are no guarantees,” Savane said.

Savane said he is still asking people who are not vaccinated to wear a mask while coming in and leaving his restaurant. But he said if you are vaccinated, it can be time to put the masks away.
