(WYMT) - The federal fraud trial of an Eastern Kentucky rehabilitation center owner is delayed until September.

In late 2020, Eugene Sisco III of Pikeville pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges.

A federal grand jury indicted Sisco, who owns rehabilitation centers in Pike, Floyd and Harlan Counties, on Medicaid fraud in November 2020.

Prosecutors said Sisco devised a plan to scheme money from health care providers.

Sisco was scheduled to go on trial July 12, but is now delayed until Sept. 7.

Sisco faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud, 10 years on the healthcare fraud charge, hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and several years of supervised release. He also has to hand over any property that was obtained by the illegally made funds.
