UPDATE: Deputies continue searching for escaped inmate from Highlands ARH

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Update 7:26 p.m.: Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt told WYMT deputies are searching for Jacob Nathaniel Estep.

Sheriff Hunt said deputies have not found Estep yet.

Estep’s original charge was for “receiving stolen property and a couple of warrants for failure to appear in court.”

Hunt said Estep is now being charged with second-degree escape.

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt told WYMT the sheriff’s department is searching for an escaped inmate.

Sheriff Hunt said the inmate walked away from Highlands ARH while being seen in the emergency room. He was taken to the hospital by Floyd County Jail personnel.

The inmate was last seen on Route 321 on foot.

The inmate is not believed to be armed or dangerous.
