HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A Freeze Warning continues through mid-morning on Thursday and a Freeze Watch is out for most locations going from Thursday night into Friday.

Today and Tonight

Give yourself time to get those cars cleared off this morning. You will have frost on them. Temperatures will start off in the 20s and 30s and while they get warmer than yesterday thanks to some sunshine, it will not be a heatwave by any means. We should top out in the low to mid-50s this afternoon.

There is a chance for a stray shower or two later, but I think most of us will stay dry. We could see more clouds at times thanks to those chances. The skies will clear back out for a while tonight, dropping us back down into the low to mid-30s, so be ready for another frosty night across the mountains. Take those precautions once again to protect those outdoor plants, flowers and crops by bringing them in or if you can’t, covering them up.

Extended Forecast

The end of the work and school week on Friday is warmer, but we will see a few more clouds, especially later in the day, thanks to our next system that will impact the region to start the weekend. Highs top out in the low 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances return late Friday night as lows drop into the upper 40s.

Saturday looks soggy. If you have any outdoor plans, you will definitely want to rethink them. Highs will top out in the mid-50s before dropping into the upper 40s overnight.

After a few early rain chances Sunday, skies will clear out. We will warm back up slightly too into the low to mid-60s.

The new work and school week on Monday starts amazing with lots of sunshine and highs back into the mid-70s.
