Gov. Beshear reports more than 600 new cases Tuesday
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) - Gov. Andy Beshear did not hold a news conference Tuesday, but did release Tuesday’s COVID-19 numbers in a news release.
The governor said at least 1,672,364 Kentuckians have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.
“As our case numbers seem to be plateauing, it’s more important than ever for us to make sure our vaccination numbers are rising consistently,” said Gov. Beshear. “Let’s meet our 2.5 million vaccine Team Kentucky Vaccination Challenge so we can get back to more of the activities we enjoy and keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe.”
Beshear reported 609 new cases, seven deaths and six new audit deaths.
The positivity rate is at 3.44%.
At least 438,147 Kentuckians have contracted the virus. The death toll is now at 6,360.
50,872 people have recovered from the virus.
5,319,687 Kentuckians have received tests.
As of Tuesday, 10 out of 120 counties are in the red zone on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map. (this changes each day)
