JELLICO, Tenn. (WVLT/WYMT) - Jellico Rescue Squad member and beloved Jellico Fire and South Whitley Fire Chief Harold “Wayne” Honeycutt died, fire officials said in a Facebook post Sunday.

“We are deeply saddened to say we have lost another brother. Wayne Honeycutt rescue #448 was not only a long time member of the Jellico Rescue Squad he was Jellico Fire Chief and chief of South Whitley as well. Wayne spent his time giving back to his community for many years. He was well loved by many. Wayne was a friend to all he met and will never be forgotten. You are no longer in pain and you are spending time with all the loved ones we’ve lost. Rest easy Rescue 448. You will be missed dearly,” the rescue squad said in another Facebook post.

Funeral arrangements have not been released at this time.
