PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Two people are dead after a house fire Monday morning in the Viper community of Perry County.

Around 5:20 a.m., the Viper Fire Department responded to a house fire on Middle Fork Maces Creek Road. Firefighters also found what they believed to be two bodies inside the home.

An arson investigator and detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 13 responded to the scene along with Perry County Coroner Jeffrey Combs.

Combs confirmed that two people died in the fire.

At this time, the two victims’ identities have not been released.

The remains were transported to the medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy
