HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - In the University of Kentucky’s latest screening process, two of 60 athletes and one out of 25 staffers tested positive for COVID-19. Those three individuals are currently in quarantine. The teams tested in the latest return include the men’s soccer and swimming and diving programs, as well as athletes from the football, men’s basketball, women’s soccer and volleyball programs.

In addition, the women’s basketball program is in the process of returning to campus and is going through the initial screening process.

The University says that they will “continue to actively monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 and respond accordingly in collaboration with University of Kentucky leadership and the guidance of the Southeastern Conference. UK Athletics plans to continue current mitigation strategies and evaluate the need for additional testing on a regular basis.”
