HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Two new in-person unemployment assistance locations will open the week of July 13-17.

One of those will be in Prestonsburg at Big Sandy Community and Technical College.

It will open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“Now, as we sit here today, we have more than tripled our unemployment insurance work force,” said Gov. Beshear. “We have 100 state government employees and 220 employees from our outside contractor, Ernst & Young, actively processing claims.”

The other site will be in Covington at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

The Frankfort in-person assistance site will also remain open next Monday through Friday.
