LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - According to a release from UK Athletics, the football team has completed the initial screening process. 106 student-athletes were tested on the football team with six testing positive through the antibody test.

“The student-athletes who tested positive went through an evaluation process and were subsequently cleared to participate,” the release went on to say. Those student-athletes are now participating in voluntary workouts.

The men’s basketball team will return to campus in less than a week on June 28. They will go through the initial screening process on that date with plans to return to activity later that week.

The first two groups of the volleyball team also went through initial screening last week and are cleared to start activity today, Monday, June 22.

UK also announced that women’s soccer, men’s soccer and women’s basketball teams are slated to return to activity in July. More details will follow as those dates approach.
