LANGLEY, Ky (WYMT) - This week's game of the week pitches Prestonsburg against Floyd Central.
The Black Cats picked up their first win of the season this past week while the Jaguars sit at 4-0.
This game has become quite a rivalry over the past two weeks and there's some history in this game as well that the Floyd Central team is ready to break.
Bryce Morris, a senior offensive lineman, said, "I think we kind of expected it. I don't think we expected it to be as big as it is. Nobody in county has beaten Prestonsburg since '83. This is a big one for us. We can come out and make a statement as a school. It's a new era. We run it now."
Head Coach Shawn Hager also added that the chemistry the Jaguars have had this season, that is what has helped them get to where they are now.
Hager said, "You know we are very happy to be four and oh, and kids are very excited right now, I don't know if they knew we would be in this position coming into the season but we are, we are hoping to get better each week, and we have a big week coming up....Well, to be honest, the chemistry has been there the whole year even through the summer, you know it's went far better than I expected. Everybody said you're going to have problems up there with two schools but the kids have gotten along, the community has gotten along. School is going great right now, so everything seems to be meshing together okay."
