HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - After a slick and snow-filled start across the region this morning, conditions will improve by the afternoon.
Today & Tonight
The Winter Weather Advisory will continue through mid-morning for some parts of the area, but the snow should wrap up by then. Be careful early because slick spots are likely.
Skies will slowly clear this afternoon, giving way to some late day sunshine. Temperatures will stay cold, only topping out in the upper 30s.
Some clouds will start to return to the area tonight, but we stay dry. Lows will drop into the upper 20s.
A high-pressure system will move into our south on Thursday. That will bring us more sunshine and cause our winds to shift and bring warmer air up from the southwest, so temperatures will climb into the mid-50s Thursday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
That sunshine won’t last long. Another low-pressure system will begin to make its way into our region for the end of the week. That will bring us scattered rain chances beginning Friday afternoon and continuing on and off through early next week.
