WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Williamsburg Police say something was off when a mother took her children to the doctor's office.
Workers told police they noticed that Tracy Llewellyn, 30, was high in the office. She had two elementary age kids with her.
"Call came through dispatch that there was a female there. She had two children with her," said Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird. "She would nod off, fall asleep at times, speech was very slurred."
Police say Llewellyn's boyfriend, Keith Jones was high in a car outside the office.
"They did a K9 search of the vehicle, they found a small quantity of oxycodone pills and some other prescription pills," said Bird. "The female claimed ownership of the oxycodone pills."
Police say Llewellyn had four active warrants on her and she tried to give them a fake name. They also believe Jones drove the four to the medical practice.
"He wasn't driving at the time the officers made contact," Bird explained. "So the only thing we could charge him with was public intoxication."
Llewellyn is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication.
The children are now in their father's custody.
