Warm and muggy, storm chances continue for Eastern Kentucky

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The warm conditions continue for Eastern Kentucky as a muggy air mass moves in. In return, look for a summer-like feel today as highs reach the lower 80’s. Scattered showers and storms will be possible throughout today. A few strong-severe storm cannot be ruled out.

Tonight, mostly cloudy skies prevail as scattered storms linger. Activity eventually diminishes late tonight as Eastern Kentucky catches a little break from the rainfall. Otherwise, look for another mild night as lows only dip into the mid 60’s.

The active weather pattern rolls on as scattered showers and storms continue Saturday before a cold front swings through Sunday. Widespread rain likely takes over as we wrap up the weekend before showers would come to an end Monday morning.

A much cooler air mass settles in early next week as highs drop into the low 70’s. However, the busy weather pattern looks likely as more rain and storm chances remain possible through this time next week.
