HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Cloud cover lingers across Eastern Kentucky this morning before clearing out. This will bring mostly sunny skies to the mountains as southwest winds pick up at 5-10 mph. Highs top out in the low 60’s as the spring-like feel begins.
Tonight, mostly clear skies prevail as lows cool off into the lower 40’s. Some valley locations could dip into the upper 30’s by early Saturday morning.
Increasing clouds are expected Saturday morning as mostly cloudy skies take over. A disturbance from the southwest works northeastward throughout the day and will bring scattered showers to the forecast Saturday evening.
A few showers linger early Sunday morning before conditions dry out Sunday afternoon. Sunshine returns to the forecast as highs top out in the low-mid 60’s. Overall, a nice day takes over and will be a great way to wrap up the weekend!
By early next week, thermometers soar into the upper 60’s to right around 70º as a surge of warm air moves in. Our next system arrives late Tuesday and brings showers back to the Commonwealth. Rain chances stick around through Thursday before briefly drying out Friday.
