Police: Man caught throwing black case with drugs inside over embankment

BUSY, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police arrested a Busy man Thursday night in Perry County after police said he tossed a black case with drugs inside over the embankment.

Police charged Harold R. Hayes, 37, of Busy, with operating an ATV on a roadway, trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces, first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.

Police said they saw Hayes driving an ATV on Hwy 451 in the Busy community of Perry County Thursday night.

Before Hayes stopped for police, they said he tossed a black case over an embankment.

After Hayes was arrested, an officer found the black case.

Inside the case, police said, were eight grams of marijuana, four grams of meth, 11 small plastic baggies, one digital scale, two needles and one spoon.

Hayes also had $91 in cash on him when he was arrested.

He was taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
