Update: Pedestrian hit by car in Lawrence County dies in hospital, identified

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ/WYMT) -- Officials in Lawrence County say someone was flown to the hospital later Tuesday night after they were hit by a vehicle.

It happened on State Route 3 at Chapel Road according to the Lawrence County Emergency Manager.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. in the Point area of Louisa.

Route 3 was closed in the area of the Louisa-Fort Gay bridge.

Police say Christopher Mullett was walking in the northbound lane.

A driver in the same lane tried swerving to avoid Mullett, but hit him with the front right bumper.

Mullett later died in the hospital.
