PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Hundreds of motorcycles rode through the streets to raise money for Shriners Hospital on Sunday morning. Bikers began the ride in Pikeville and ended in Ashland.
The ride is part of the 12th annual "Hillbilly Christmas in July." According to organizers, this event is to raise money for kids needing treatment.
"We're looking at over 1,100 active patients, just to Lexington Shriners hospital," Jimmy Kinney, organizer, said. "So it is very important to us to take care of our kids and that is what we do."
Kinney said they hope to buy a new van to transport patients to Shriners Hospital.
