Traffic back to normal following injury crash on Hal Rogers Parkway

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A woman is recovering after hitting a tractor trailer head-on.

Kentucky State Police say Kimberly Owens was heading Westbound on Hal Rogers Parkway Wednesday morning when she crossed the center line and hit a coal truck head-on.

Owens was airlifted to UK Hospital where officials say she is being treated for her injuries.

The driver of the truck, Feldon Bush was not injured in the crash.

Officers believe that drugs may have played role in the crash.

Hal Rogers Parkway was shut down but reopened shortly after.
One woman was airlifted to a hospital after hitting a coal truck head-on.

The crash occurred at the 8-mile marker on the Hal Rogers Parkway, between London and Manchester.

Kentucky State Police say the woman was west bound when she crossed the center lane and hit a coal truck.

Highway 80 was closed for a few hours following the crash.

Recommended detours are if you are heading west, take Old 80 in Manchester and if you're heading east, take Old 80 in London.
