WYMT General Manager provides update on satellite issue

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - WYMT Vice President and General Manager Neil Middleton asks for your help to get your Mountain News on satellite.

Hello! I'm Neil Middleton, WYMT's General Manager.

Many of you have asked us about our FCC petition to get WYMT carried on satellite.

First, let me say Thank You!

We are overwhelmed by your support!

You filed thousands of comments in support of WYMT and our efforts to provide you with local news, weather and sports on Dish and Direct TV.

The FCC cannot ignore your comments and the strong show of public support.

But as expected, we face opposition.

Direct TV is ignoring your requests and vigorously opposing our petition for satellite carriage.

Our attorneys have countered every argument with fact.

We are hopeful the FCC will agree that there simply is no logical or technical reason why WYMT cannot be carried on satellite.

We expect the FCC to issue its ruling within the next few weeks.

Your comments could make the difference in helping the FCC understand that WYMT is your true source for local news, weather and sports.

WYMT remains dedicated to you and to Eastern Kentucky!

Thank you again for your support.

I'll see you soon!
