(WYMT) - New figures on coal jobs show a slight increase in Eastern Kentucky since President Trump took office.

Coal mining positions across the state increased less than one percent from 2016 to 2017.

The news was better in Eastern Kentucky than in the western part of the state.

Pike County increased coal jobs by 23 percent while Perry County had an increase of more than 14 percent.
