Farmers gives back to community

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Farmers at the Pikeville Farmers Market went out of their way to help the community. On Saturday morning, free school supplies were given out to students during the market.

More than 50 students received the supplies. Each bag was stuffed with paper, folders, notebooks and crayons.

Vendors said they want to help students learn in the classroom.

"I hope the community just knows that we care," Bridget Tacket, owner of Naturally You, said. "They support us every weekend so this is our way to give back to them."

Tackett said the extra supplies will be donated to Pike County schools.
