LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) - 6-20-17 Update:
William "Arnold" Perry
The body of an elderly man who had been missing since last Wednesday was found Monday, about 6 miles from his home, Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say.
William "Arnold" Perry, 72, was found dead in his car. A passing driver on Yellow Creek Road spotted the car in high weeds around 4:30 p.m.
Perry, who was from Louisa, died as a result of a car crash, deputies say. Family members said last week that Perry drove a black 2008 Chevrolet Impala.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department thanked everyone who helped in the search and expressed condolences to Perry's family.
A family is desperate to find their loved on who has been missing since Wednesday.
"That's the hardest thing of all of this," said Beverly Evans. "Just knowing that he's out there somewhere and no one knows where he's at."
Evans is talking about her relative William "Arnold" Perry, 72, who was last seen leaving his girlfriend's house.
"You can't sleep at night because you're not for sure where William's at. If he's safe. Has he eaten? Is he hurt somewhere?" said Evans.
Family members tell us Perry drives a 2008 Black Chevrolet Impala, and they just pray he comes home.
"It's just like a piece of your heart is missing," said Evans. "You don't have him there to call his grandkids, to call his kids to let them know, 'Hey, I'm going here today,' because usually, somebody would know in the family, where Arnold was going."
Now the family waits by the phone, hoping to hear the news that Perry has been found and is safe.
Anyone who has seen Perry or has any information about his whereabouts should call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office at (606) 638-4368.
