PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)- Officials with the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter say they may have to euthanize more than 60 cats if they aren't adopted.
According to Tammy Noble, Chairman of the Board for the animal shelter, the shelter currently has more than 150 cats. She says more than 50 cats were brought to the facility in one week alone.
To avoid euthanizing any of the cats, Noble says they will hold an emergency cat adoption event starting Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Cats will be $10 and kittens will be $25. The fee includes flea treatment, vaccines and spaying/neutering.
The shelter will be open until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and will also stay open until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
