Corbin church pushes on after break-in

CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - Church is moving on as scheduled after a break-in at Grace on the Hill in Corbin.

In a video posted on the church's Facebook page, Pastoral Assistant Gus Clouse said the church was damaged in a break-in but their scheduled event Wednesday Night Alive would go on as planned.

Two people wearing masks were seen on the video breaking into the church. Assistant to the pastor, Gus Clouse, said the burglars did not find much worth taking.

"They went throughout the church looking for what we think was quick money because they didn't take anything of value like computers or music instruments", said Clouse.

Clouse said burglars stole cash from a box in his office and a safe that was attached to a wall inside the church.

"It's kind of sad that our country has come to that instead of people asking for help they try to take it on themselves to take from other people", said Clouse.

Clouse said the burglars caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. He asked for anyone with information about the crime to call law enforcement.
