HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The skies will clear this afternoon and the air will be much less humid, at least briefly.
Today and Tonight
Fog and a stray shower will greet you this morning as you head out the door. After the cold front completely moves through the region, the skies will start to clear, giving way to sunshine by this afternoon. The humidity levels will go down today, but they will start to creep back up by tonight.
Highs will be in the low to mid-80s before dropping into the mid-60s overnight under mostly clear skies. Some patchy fog will also work back into the region for Thursday night/Friday morning.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday
High pressure will keep us dry most of the weekend and it will get hot. Humidity comes back in full force too by Friday.
Friday and Saturday will be sunny. We'll bring some clouds back into the mix on Sunday and a stray chance for a shower or storm later in the day.
The heat will play a major factor in your weekend plans. Highs will be close to 90 or in the low 90s all three days. When you factor in the humidity, it's going to feel close to 100 degrees in some areas. Make sure you take your heat precautions. Lows will only drop into the upper 60s and low 70s at night.
If everything goes according to forecast, this will be the hottest stretch of weather we've had so far in 2018.
Once we hit next week, there is a lot of inconsistency in the model data. Two things we're fairly confident about is that we go back to that typical pattern of daily storm chances, especially in the heat of the day and that the heat will continue.
