(WYMT) - Mostly clear skies continue as an area of high pressure works across the region. If you have any plans over the next few days, the weather looks to be great.
Low temperatures drop down into the mid-50s with mostly clear skies. Patchy dense fog will develop late tonight and into early Friday morning. A light jacket might be needed for a few in the mountains Friday morning.
Another warming trend will begin Friday and continue through the weekend. Southerly winds will increase temperatures into the upper 70s for Friday. Mostly sunny skies and calm conditions will be the main story.
The warm weather will continue for both Saturday and Sunday with highs ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s. Dry conditions will be present for any plans on Saturday, however, that changes for Sunday. An approaching cold front will increase cloud cover and rain chances Sunday afternoon. In return, most locations will pick up on some rain Sunday. This will also bring a reinforcing cold shot of air to start next week.
Morning showers and cloud cover will remain in the forecast for Monday. Rain chances should end by the middle of the day with highs in the low 60s. Cooler high temperatures and decreasing cloud cover will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid-upper 60s.
Another big story next week will be low temperatures! Overnight lows will drop down into the lower 40s Monday and Tuesday night. A few locations could reach the upper 30s! This will be a big story we continue to watch.
