FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Betsy Layne High School robotics team can add some new trophies to their collection.
The team competed in a regional competition in Ashland over the weekend and brought home first and second place.
This is the third year in a row the team won first place at the competition.
Officials said they are looking forward to showing off their skills at the state competition, but they know there are things they need to practice before going.
"The boards are supposed to be exactly the same when we get to different competitions, we don't take our own board, but they are often a little different so they are supposed to have the same specifications, but they may be a little bit off, so that kind of changes the way our robot runs each time," said Kari Cornett, the team's coach.
The team is made up of mostly juniors and seniors.
School officials said they are proud of their student's hard work.
