Bench warrant arrest leads police to drug arrest

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - A Barbourville man was arrested Wednesday in London.

After learning about an outstanding bench warrant, police arrested 29-year-old Christopher Scott.

Officials also found prescription pills that were not in a proper container, a clear baggie with suspected meth residue, and five syringes.

Scott was charged with possession of a controlled substance – third-degree, prescription controlled substances not in a proper container – first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Scott was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator's license and numerous other violations.

Scott was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
