Amanda Bowen sentenced to life in prison

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Amanda Bowen appeared in Johnson County Circuit Court again Friday for her sentencing in a Martin County triple murder case.

Judge John David Preston followed the jury's recommendation.

Bowen will spend the rest of her life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Bowen and her boyfriend, Jack David Smith, killed eight year old Trinity Maynard along with Tina Goble and Cainie Johnson Jr.

They were found in a burned home in 2014.

Before Bowen's sentencing family members of the victims read letters.

They said for years they've waited for this day.

"Feels like a burden has been lifted off your shoulders, that you can move forward now knowing that they're not going to be hurting anyone else," Wanda Sartin, Tina Goble's Mother, said.

Bowen received three life sentences without parole, two 20 years sentences and one five year sentence.

Last week Smith was also sentenced to life in prison without parole.
