Keeping you informed and telling your stories is one of the greatest responsibilities I have ever been given.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have treasured stories. Fairy tales, novels, non fiction – I love it all. Growing up in Springfield, Missouri my parents taught me how all of life is ultimately one big story.
The news was always on in our home. Each morning my mom and I would watch the TODAY show together before I went to school. After I came home from school I would watch KY3 news at 5:00, 6:00, 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. with my dad. I couldn’t get enough, I always wanted to know the latest update or what the newest story was.
When it came time for me to go to college, I wanted to explore a new part of the United States. I chose to go to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia to study medicine. I thought that I wanted to be a doctor but after one semester I realized that was that was not for me. I was asked, “if I could be anything in the world what would I be?” My immediate response was, “I would be a reporter.” That was my light bulb moment. I switched my major the next day and never looked back. I graduated from Liberty in December 2016 with a degree in Communication Studies: Journalism.
Keeping you informed and telling your stories, is one of the greatest responsibilities I have ever been given. I look forward to hearing your story and connecting with you all.
My husband, Tyler, and I live in Pikeville, Kentucky. We enjoy road trips, board games, eating food at local restaurants and hiking through the mountains.
