I was born and raised in the shadows of the Mountains in Pikeville; a “mountain boy” is how I sum it up for new acquaintances.
I was born and raised in the shadows of the Mountains in Pikeville; a “mountain boy” is how I sum it up for new acquaintances. My best memories of growing up were going to 15th region basketball games, eating a meal at Jerry’s Diner and then catching the end of Mountain News Night Watch and Sports Overtime Highlights.
I graduated from Pike County Central High School in 2006, where my love for Journalism really blossomed. My first year and a half of college was spent at the University of the Cumberlands where I played soccer and then transferred to and graduated from “UPIKE”.
While at Pikeville College I worked on the campus news paper as a reporter and lay out editor.
My love for politics led me to an internship in Washington, D.C. in 2010 at a small but prospering Public Relations Firm; Tricom Associates.
After moving back to the mountains I worked on a campaign for a vacant United States Senate seat.
Most of my support comes from my loving wife Vanessa and son Nehemiah. My father lives in Pikeville where he films football games for Pike Central. Give him a shout … he’ll love it. My mother lives in Ashland.
I am grateful that the family here at WYMT-News gave me this opportunity to serve you, our Mountain Family.
Feel free to stop me anytime you see me out I love to sit around and chit chat. If you have story ideas you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
